• Phone number (for login and account verification via OTP)
• Full name, username, date of birth, gender
• Profile photo

1.2 Trip & Travel Data

• Trip destinations (countries and cities you enter)
• Saved places and experience preferences ("vibes")
• Trip members and group information
• Expense splitting data (descriptions, amounts, who paid, splits among group members)

1.3 Communications

• Chat messages (text and media) within trip groups or 1:1 conversations are stored on your device only.
• Documents, photos, and videos you add to the Vault or share in chat are stored on our servers using secure pre-signed URLs.

1.4 Device & Technical Data

• Device contacts (when you grant permission, to find friends on Visrata)
• Push notification token (for message and activity notifications)
• Location data for saved places (when you add a place on the map; we do not continuously track your location)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide trip planning, group chat, expense splitting, and vault features
• Connect you with trip members and contacts who use Visrata
• Send push notifications (e.g., new messages)
• Improve and maintain the App
• Comply with applicable laws

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Backend servers – account, trips, chat, expenses, media
• Firebase Cloud Messaging – push notifications
• Mapbox – maps and place search
• Cloud storage (via our servers) – photos, videos, documents you upload

These services process data as necessary to provide their functions.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on our servers and on your device (for offline access).
• Session tokens and profile data and chats are stored securely on your device.
• Media and documents are uploaded to cloud storage via secure pre-signed URLs.
• We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, though no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data:

• With other users as part of normal App use (e.g., trip members see trip details, group chat members see messages).
• With service providers (hosting, push notifications, maps) who assist us in operating the App, under contractual obligations to protect your data.
• When required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

7. Your Rights & Choices

• Account data: Update your profile in the App settings.
• Contacts: You can deny or revoke contacts permission in your device settings.
• Location: Map-related features use location when you add a place; you can deny location permission.
• Notifications: You can disable push notifications in device settings.
• Delete account: Contact us to request account deletion and removal of your data.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or regulatory reasons.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
